 How it all started!

LATEEF OLAJIDE is the owner of Success Brothers Enterprise, a company specializing in ‘Net/Direct Marketing. He is an ambitious man who has always wanted to be himself and not work for any body. This ambition was achieved through his contact with Success Digest.

SD: How did you come in contact with Success Digest?

Well it happened sometime in late 1998 just a year after my school certificate. Something happened that I had to work somewhere, which was against my own belief. After working with this company as a trainee clerk with the intervention of God. I said to myself that you have to do something that will move you into your ambition. That day I just saw the magazine and immediately I went through it. Have always been attracted to the word “success”. After searching through it, I saw a lot of things have been looking for. At that time my salary was just within few round figure. But that did not stop me from getting the magazine every month.

SD: How has the magazine affected your life and business?

I can say it all. It always been said that all we are doing in life is being recorded by God how I wish God almighty could play that tape for me from that 1998 till date.

Just a month to the time I started reading the magazine  (since where I was working then I was more or less redundant there, no money, nothing), the Director just came to the office that day and said ‘boy, can you come to our bakery department and start supervising them, that is working there as supervisor? I quickly said, “this is an opportunity even if I don’t get money, I’ll be eating bread (laughs)’. Within that one month of reading Success Digest, my belief totally changes about myself. People say there are no opportunities, but SuccessDigest opens your eyes to opportunities around you. I started reading SuccessDigest’s principles and within six months, my Director raises my salary more than three times. This had never happened in any of his organization before.

Automatically a lot of things I did was what I gained from SuccessDigest and few months later, the man said, ‘you are too much for this bakery, you have to do something else. I just finished a filling station, can you work there?’ I started as an assistant supervisor then but today (laughs), I have my own company.

SD: Tell us more about your outfit that you are running.

In Success Brothers Enterprises, we are getting to touch people’s lives. I took the bull by the horns, got in and registered the company along with a friend and we started working at achieving our desire. We went into information packaging and we developed our site  The site is all bout the successful.

SD: You said you have international contact especially with a company in South Africa to market their entire on-line products, how did you finance it?

Well we started small anyway. It happened that we found a product that meets people’s need.

SD: How did you discover the product?

Discovering the product was through browsing, just browsing as somebody that is looking for ways to make money. I browse a lot and it was through browsing that I was the name of the company and I made my contact through the director. I told him I wanted the package and he said okay, I paid the money online. Thereafter, on of my friend who happens to be my partner said we can market this product here, and that it is not only we that are in need of it, other people are in need of it in this country. I now said ‘okay what can we do?’ He told me to write to the company and give them this offer. That was how e wrote to the company telling them that we will be glad to buy in bulk.

SD: Why didn’t you choose to copy their product and sell?

You see, I must tell you, copying other people’s products is out of it. They were even sincere with us, with the 12 dollars we sent, they sent us 3 big copies of these products and that was how we started everything. We registered for more, which we paid for and pay later.

SuccessDigest motivated us because my first time of hearing about Internet was through SuccessDigest. At that time they advertised the Mr. Sunny Obazy Ojeagbese’s organized Internet program. I have been attending SuccessDigest’s programs but my Mr. Sunny just said something that day that changed my life.

He just came in and said” if all of you are making good use of the information it would have been better for Nigeria, but only one percent is making good use of it”. We were now looking at whom and who will be part of that one percent. When I got home that day I discussed with my friend what the president said and I made up my mind not to miss this opportunity. Immediately on the same day we gathered some money and went to one Cyber Café near us. We didn’t know anything about computer but we just told one of their staff that we wanted to open an email address. That wasn’t enough, we said we wanted to know about the Internet. The boy in the cyber café said he could train us. “How much do we pay?” He said N5, 000. We agree to pay the money and got the information. That was it and for two weeks we were on training. In fact from that time on, there has not been any more limitation to all I can learn.

SD: Is that all about your business?

No, not everything, because presently we’re offering training in Nigeria. Through our training package, we produced the manual/video package title Zero to Hero. Which President Sunny Obazu Ojeagbese talked about in the July 2003 edition of SuccessDigest.End.
